Oolong Maple Old Fashioned

Enjoy a relaxing night in by getting warm by the fire with this smooth Old Fashioned brewed with oolong tea, maple syrup, and your favorite bourbon. This cocktail is sweet, strong, spirited and definitely packs a punch.

Oolong Maple Old Fashioned

Makes 1 glass // Prep Time: 15 minutes // Active Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 rounded tsp loose leaf or 2 sachets/bags oolong tea
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp filtered water
  • 1 dash aromatic bitters
  • 1 orange peel
  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 1 maraschino cherry for garnish (optional)
  • Ice cubes

Directions

Heat the water to 195°F (or boil and let cool for 2 minutes) and steep tea for 2-4 minutes. Remove tea and let cool to room temperature (about 15 minutes).

In a cocktail glass, combine the maple syrup, water, and aromatic bitters and stir until well blended. Add a couple of ice cubes and the orange peel, then pour in 2 oz of the oolong tea along with the bourbon. Garnish with a cherry and enjoy!
