FRESH MINT SWEET GREEN TEA

This is a fresh way to enjoy soothing iced green tea when the weather starts to get warm outside. You may have heard before that all teas are wonderful detoxifiers for the body, but combining tea with mint and lemon can be even more powerful! This lightly, minty, sweet iced tea is the ideal refreshment.

FRESH MINT SWEET GREEN TEA

Makes 4-6 glasses // Prep Time: 15 minutes // Active Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 6 cups filtered water
  • 7 rounded tsp loose leaf or 7 sachets/bags green tea
  • 1/4 cup honey or agave nectar or maple syrup
  • 6 sprigs fresh mint, muddled (plus extra for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges/rounds for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Directions

Heat the water to 175°F (or boil and let cool for 3 minutes) and steep tea for 1-3 minutes. Remove tea and let cool to room temperature (about 15 minutes).

In a large pitcher, combine the tea, sweetener, muddled mint sprigs, and a couple of lemon wheels. Add in some ice cubes and give it a good stir. Serve immediately or let infuse in the refrigerator until you're ready to serve. Serve over ice, garnish with mint sprigs and/or lemon wheels, and enjoy!
