NEPALI BREAKFAST Sips by NEPAL TEA
Start your day the Nepalese way with this blend of black tea and traditional masala chai spices from Nepal Tea. Many Nepali people are used to drinking tea (called “chiya”) at least a few times a day, starting off their morning with tea often boiled with milk and sugar. In the mountainous regions, some people add ghee and salt to their tea! It’s also a common gesture of hospitality to welcome guests with a cup of chiya.
You can steep Nepali Breakfast like any other loose leaf tea in a pot or cup (great on its own or with milk and sugar), or try out the traditional Nepali way of boiling the tea and spices with milk and sugar (or a non-dairy milk and sweetener of your choice) and simmering for 5 minutes.
Nepal Tea brings us organic high mountain teas from the foothills of Mt. Kanchanjangha, the third highest mountain in the world. The company was conceived in May 2016, when Nishchal came back to the US from his trip to his homeland, Nepal. He stayed on the tea farm, which his father started in 1984. After seeing the impact tea farming had on the community, he wanted to start a social venture that not only promotes organic teas from Nepal, but also enriches the lives of farmers and creates sustainable communities. By taking responsibility for the entire supply chain, they not only empower their farmers economically by providing better income, but also uplift them socially by providing free housing and free education to their children and distributing cows for additional income.

MOUNTAIN TEA Sips by MOUNTAIN FLOWER TEA
To help you stay healthy during the winter months (and all year round) we’re excited to introduce an ancient Greek remedy for everyday wellness - Mountain Tea! Also known as Ironwort, Shepherd’s Tea, and Sideritis, Mountain Tea is sourced from the tops of Mount Olympus in Greece. Growing up in Macedonia, Biljana's husband distinctly remembers the fresh sweet smell of air walking up Galicica mountain before sunrise in early July to pick mountain tea. The tea would then be bundled up and left to dry by his grandmother and mom to be enjoyed later in the winter months.
Every year in the spring and summer, the families would gather various herbs along the mountain sides and hills. A very common tradition in Macedonia and Greece. These herbs such as chamomile, mint, nettle, and lemon verbena would be brewed using a decoction method which is just a fancy word for simmering them in a pot of water, letting them steep for a few minutes to then drink as a tea.
