A bombilla is a metal straw used to sip yerba mate. One end is the mouthpiece and the other end is placed in the leaves and used as a strainer to filter out the yerba leaves.
Every bombilla has a different feel. Most South Americans have several in their collections. While these stainless steel bombillas are traditionally used for yerba mate, they can be used with any loose leaf tea or brewed infusion.
Both bombilla styles - slotted and deluxe - are just short of 6" long and are dishwasher safe. They fit perfectly in a regular-sized yerba mate gourd and are handcrafted in Argentina.
Directions for use:
Add loose leaf yerba mate to your gourd or mug. Add hot water. Place the bombilla inside the mate, let cool, and sip the mate infusion through the bombilla - it will naturally filter out the leaves.
The slotted bombilla has a great filtration system that is easy to clean. Stick in the dishwasher or wash by hand with a gentle brush.
The deluxe bombilla has a screw bottom for easy cleaning. These can also be put into the dishwasher or scrubbed gently with a brush.
About SoulMaté Yerba Co
Having been born in Argentina, SoulMaté founder Ana Goldseker grew up on yerba mate. As a nutrition counselor, she knew her clients could be helped by drinking yerba. After spending years researching what people needed, her company now hand crafts these Organic Yerba Blends in small batches, designed for different effects on the body and mind.
Yerba Mate is an infusion often centered around a social, ritualistic moment with the intent of being present in the moment and connecting people. In Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile and parts of Brazil, Yerba is present in nearly every home – It is a big part of the social culture.
