Organic Ancient Green Tuo Cha Pu Erh Sips by Arbor Teas

Organic Chinese Sheng (Raw) Pu-erh Tea

Medium Caffeine

How to Make This Tea

  • 1/3 tuo cha per 8 oz. water
  • Heat water to 212° F or boil
  • Steep for 5-10 min

Why You'll Love This Tea

The leaves for this tea are harvested by the farmers of the Mannong Manmai Ancient Tea Association in China's southwest Yunnan province, where ancient tea trees reside that range from 800-1,200 years old, with the eldest exceeding 1,300 years old! The infusion produces a golden honey liquor, yielding a flavor and aroma that hangs in the mid-mouth reminding of dry malted grains, greens, and sweet plum. A hint of the earthiness characteristic of pu-erh tea can also be detected. The effervescent astringency of this young pu-erh will mellow with age, as its earthiness increases.

This tea will only improve with time, and the value will increase as well. Each tuo cha (the shape of the compressed tea leaves - a small bowl resembling a bird's nest) is individually wrapped and perfect for a medium sized (~3 serving) teapot, or it can be broken apart to accommodate a single serving. Don't forget to remove the wrapping before the tea is steeped!
