HOW TO STEEP TEA

THE 4 STEP GUIDE TO STEEP TEA
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Water Kettle or Pot to Heat Water
- Tea leaves/Sachets/Bags
- Tea Pot with Infuser/Tea Pot with Strainer/Teacup
STEP ONE: HEAT THE WATER
- Herbal: 212℉ // Hard boil
- Rooibos: 212℉ // Hard boil
- Pu-erh: 212℉ // Hard boil
- Black: 205℉-212℉ // Soft boil
- Oolong: 185℉-195℉ // Light steam
- White: 175℉-185℉ // Light steam
- Green: 175℉ // Faint steam
Pro Tip: Water Temperature: water that's too hot can burn tea leaves and give you a bitter cup! Water Selection: Use filtered water for the best tasting cup!
STEP TWO: MEASURE THE TEA
- Generally 1 rounded tsp/1 tea bag per 8 oz. (1 cup) of water
Pro Tip: Add tea leaves to an infuser that lets them open fully, or you can put them straight into the teapot and use a strainer when you're pouring a cup!
STEP THREE: STEEP THE TEA
- Herbal: 5-10 minutes
- Rooibos: 6-7 minutes
- Pu-erh:2-5 minutes
- Black: 3-5 minutes
- Oolong: 2-4 minutes
- White: 1-3 minutes
- Green: 2-3 minutes
Pro Tip: Don't let your tea steep for too long! It's best to take the leaves/sachet/bag out when the time's up so you aren't left with a bitter cup.
