BANANA BLACK TEA DARK SPOT MASK

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 1 black tea bag OR 1 tbsp black tea leaves
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

WHAT TO DO

Briefly steep the tea bag or tea leaves in hot water for about 1 minute. Then, remove the bag or leaves from the water and let cool. In a small bowl, mash the banana until it becomes gooey and runny and then mix in the lemon juice. If you used a tea bag, cut it open and empty the contents into to the bowl containing the banana. If you used tea leaves, place them in the bowl containing the banana. Stir the mixture to ensure that everything is evenly combined.

Cleanse and dry your face and then apply the mask to your skin. It will most likely be a little chunky, but do your best to apply it evenly. Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes, and then exfoliate your skin before rinsing it off.

This mask is amazing because each of the ingredients serves its own purpose. Black tea is caffeinated, which makes it effective at eliminating puffiness. It is also full of antioxidants that prevent acne and heal scars, it promotes blood flow around the eyes to brighten dark circles, and it shrinks pores as a result of its tightening effect. The texture of black tea leaves make for a gentle exfoliator as well. Lemon juice primarily targets dark spots and acne scars. It's effective at fading irregularities and evening out skin tone. Lastly, ripe banana is an excellent moisturizer and aids in the regeneration of new skin cells.
