Indonesian rainstorm is made with both white and black teas. The white tea is made completely with buds and is minimally processed. The black tea starts as young tea leaves. These are withered, broken, fully oxidized, and dried with hot air. Smaller pieces, similar in size to fannings, are separated out of the white and black teas and blended together. The smaller pieces make for a faster steep and bold flavorful cup of tea.

Chariteas is committed to sourcing tea from the road less traveled. One might say, "what does tea from the road less traveled mean?". They believe it is giving a platform to bespoke teas from origins and countries one doesn't hear about much. Over the last 13 years, they continue to source tea directly from Indonesia, China, and Vietnam. In addition to sourcing, Chariteas believes in giving back. They are currently helping reforestation efforts in the Philippines and working with rainforest alliance tea growers.
