Akshar Herbs and Spices is a family-run minority women-owned business operating from Long Island, NY; started and managed by Ms. Deviyani Jamindar, a retired NY fire department officer. Their herbs and spices are grown in Uganda under expert supervision; this project is helping hundreds of small marginalized farmers by providing them the proper planting materials and training them on good agricultural practices without the use of chemicals.
