GABA Oolong Tea Leaves from Taiwan

Low Caffeine

How to Make This Tea

  • 1 sachet per 8 oz. water
  • Heat water to 203° F or boil
  • Steep for 1 min

Why You'll Love This Tea

This oolong goes through a unique oxidation process without the use of oxygen, resulting in high levels of GABA, an amino acid that promotes relaxation and helps with anxiety, stress, and insomnia. Perfect whenever you need to relax and wind down. These pure tea leaves are packed with flavor and expand more and more as they brew. Steep the same leaves multiple times to draw out unique layers of flavor with each subsequent cup. Once you've brewed a cup, you may keep the steeped tea leaves in the fridge (out of water) to save and re-steep later in the day, or the next day, to get the most out of this exquisite tea!

The GABA tea process was invented by Japanese scientists and perfected by Taiwanese tea crafters. ETC's farmers have devoted years into researching different techniques to create the fine flavor of this tea. They’ve altered the processing method to roasting and baking, which creates the excellent fruity taste now unique to this particular GABA oolong tea.

Why You'll Love This Brand

We love ETC’s mission to make some of the world’s best teas accessible to more people! They believe in ethical practices that support growers while respecting the environment, and much of the profit goes directly to tea farmers and professionals, as well as to promoting tea culture and tea education. To drive transparency in everything they do, they even offer a mobile platform for real-time product tracking, where you can input the batch number of your tea, and look up information about the source, timeline, and tasting profile of the tea - how cool is that?!

Based in Los Angeles, California, Esteemed Tea Collective offers single origin Taiwanese teas - no blends, no herbs, no broken leaves, and no illusions! They introduce real tea to the modern consumer through a fresh approach, grounded in radical transparency, innovative packaging, and relentless seasonality. They’ve built relationships with four top heritage tea plantations in Taiwan to produce their single origin oolongs. Known for their rare and exclusive teas, these tea farmers have become ETC’s close partners in introducing the world to exquisite oolong tea.
