Founded in 1992, The Republic of Tea sparked a Tea Revolution. They began by canvassing the most prized tea gardens of the world for their worthiest leaves. Now, The Republic of Tea offers more than 300 premium teas. In keeping with their identity as an independent republic, they designate employees as Ministers, sales representatives as Ambassadors, customers as Citizens, and retail outlets as Embassies.
A socially and environmentally responsible business, The Republic of Tea is dedicated to sharing its prosperity by developing premium teas and herbs to support several worthy organizations, like Community Link and Homeward Bound. In 2018 they launched Women of Tea® Sri Lanka, a program focused on nutrition, hygiene, and financial literacy. Working with the international nonprofit, the Ethical Tea Partnership, a local nonprofit, the PALM Foundation, and together with its Citizens (customers), The Republic of Tea is working to improve the lives of women and their families in Sri Lanka, helping transform teatime into a more positive force for good.
