Nothing’s better than some sweet peach iced tea when it’s hot as blazes outside. This recipe can be made with any black tea or spiked with your favorite whiskey, so go ahead - be adventurous and try this delightful summer beverage!

Whiskey Peach Iced Tea

Makes 8-10 glasses // Prep Time: 10 minutes // Active Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 5 bags of black tea or 5 tsp of loose leaf black tea
  • 5 cups water
  • ½ cup ice
  • 1 ½ cups diced peaches
  • 4 tbsp honey or sugar
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Ice for serving
  • Sliced peaches for garnish
  • For an extra kick: Whiskey (we’d recommend a nice bourbon)

Directions

Heater water to 212°F and pour over black tea in a large glass pitcher. Steep for 5 minutes, then remove tea and set aside to cool.

Add into blender in this order: ice, peaches, honey (or sugar), and lemon juice. Blend until smooth. Try adding a few fresh leaves of basil or mint (a little goes a long way) to the blender to shake up the flavors a bit!

Strain through mesh strainer (if you like) and add the pureed peach mix into the pitcher of tea and taste - you can add more honey/sugar or lemon juice if you like!

Fill serving glasses with large ice cubes and add 1 shot (about 1.5 ounces) of whiskey - or add however much depending on how you like your drinks. Then top glasses with peach iced tea, give it a light stir, and garnish with sliced peaches.

Enjoy! :)
