Nothing’s better than some sweet peach iced tea spiked with your favorite whiskey when it’s hot as blazes outside. This recipe can be made with any black tea, so go ahead - be adventurous and try this delightful summer cocktail!
Whiskey Peach Iced Tea
Makes 8-10 glasses // Prep Time: 10 minutes // Active Time: 10 minutes
- 5 bags of black tea or 5 tsp of loose leaf black tea
- 5 cups water
- ½ cup ice
- 1 ½ cups diced peaches
- 4 tbsp honey or sugar
- 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Whiskey (we’d recommend a nice bourbon)
- Ice for serving
- Sliced peaches for garnish
Heater water to 212°F and pour over black tea in a large glass pitcher. Steep for 5 minutes, then remove tea and set aside to cool.
Add into blender in this order: ice, peaches, honey (or sugar), and lemon juice. Blend until smooth. Try adding a few fresh leaves of basil or mint (a little goes a long way) to the blender to shake up the flavors a bit!
Strain through mesh strainer (if you like) and add the pureed peach mix into the pitcher of tea and taste - you can add more honey/sugar or lemon juice if you like!
Fill serving glasses with large ice cubes and add 1 shot (about 1.5 ounces) of whiskey - or add however much depending on how you like your drinks. Then top glasses with peach iced tea, give it a light stir, and garnish with sliced peaches.
