Watermelon Green Tea Cooler

Watermelon Green Tea Cooler

We love our watermelon over here at Sips by HQ, so of course we had to put it in a couple of cocktails. This cocktail is just like drinking straight out of a watermelon, you can barely taste the vodka, or the green tea really, but we know it’s in there! Quite dangerous, but oh so delicious.

Watermelon Green Tea Cooler

Makes 4-6 glasses // Prep Time: 10 minutes // Active Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 rounded tsp or 3 sachets/bags of green tea
  • 3 cups filtered water
  • 6 cups seeded watermelon chunks
  • ½ cup fresh mint leaves
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1½ cups vodka
  • Ice cubes
  • Mint sprigs, lime wedges, and/or watermelon slices for garnish

Directions

Heat the water to 175°F and steep tea for 2-3 minutes. Remove tea and set aside to cool.

Purée the watermelon chunks in a blender and strain, pressing on the watermelon to extract all the flavors. This should make about 3 cups of watermelon juice.

In a large pitcher combine the mint leaves, honey, and lime juice and muddle with a wooden spoon. Next add in the green tea, 3 cups of the watermelon juice, vodka, and 2 cups of ice cubes and stir gently.

Serve over ice and garnish with mint sprigs, lime wedges, and/or watermelon slices.
