As the winter coolness transitions to spring freshness, we all are in need of a refreshing rum cocktail. This strawberry mojito recipe is sure to do the trick. Add a bit more green to your mojito by stirring it up with some green tea. Paint it with red by muddling strawberries with the mint to release a sweet burst of flavor. Strawberry Green Tea Mojito
Makes 1 glass // Prep Time: 5 minutes // Active Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 tsp loose leaf green tea or 1 green tea sachets; or try it with Tea Kitten's Minty Mojito Mate
- 1 cup filtered water
- 6 fresh mint leaves
- 2 tsp sugar or 1 tsp honey
- ½ lime sliced into 4 wedges
- 2 strawberries sliced
- 2 oz white rum
- Ice for serving
- Club soda
- Mint sprigs, strawberries, and/or limes for garnish
How to make Strawberry Green Tea Mojito
Heat the water to 175°F and pour over the tea. Steep for 2-3 minutes, then remove the leaves or sachets and set aside to cool.
In a tall serving glass, combine the mint leaves, sugar/honey, lime wedges, and strawberries and muddle together with a muddler or the handle of a wooden spoon. Next, add in the rum, and gently stir.
Add large ice cubes and pour in ½ cup of the green tea. Then top with club soda, garnish with mint, strawberries, and/or lime - and enjoy this Rum Mojito. :)
