Ruby Peach Porch Tea

It's hard not to savor every sip of this delicious tea! Sarah Scarborough from Nomadic Tea Party used Rishi Ruby Oolong Tea, basil-peach simple syrup, and bourbon to create the deep flavor that will have you reaching for another glass!

Ruby Peach Porch Tea


  • 1 tbsp Ruby Oolong Tea
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup peeled and cubed ripe peaches
  • 1/2 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp bourbon


Basil-Peach Simple Syrup: Combine 1/2 cup of water, sugar, peaches, and basil leaves in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil. Remove from heat, mash, and stir the mixture until the sugar is dissolved and the peach is pureed. After 5 minutes, strain out the liquid syrup and store it in a glass jar in the refrigerator.

Ruby Peach Porch Tea: Heat the remaining 1/2 cup of water to 195 degrees and steep the Ruby Oolong tea for 5 minutes. Strain and allow it to come to room temperature. In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 tablespoons of the steeped Ruby Oolong, 1 teaspoon of the basil-peach simply syrup, and the bourbon. Stir well to combine and serve over a small glass of ice. Enjoy!
