Rose Tea Latte

Makes 2 glasses // Prep Time: 5 minutes // Active Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 2 rounded tsp loose leaf or 2 sachets/bags of your favorite rose tea
  • 1 cup milk of your choice
  • Honey or sweetener of your choice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla syrup
  • Optional: Dried rose petals for garnish

Directions

Boil two cups of water to begin making your tea. Steep the rose tea following the package instructions or reference our handy guide on How to Steep Tea to brew any kind of tea! For this recipe, we’re using about 1 tsp of tea or 1 tea bag/sachet per serving. Generally, herbal teas require longer steeping times, about 5-10 minutes.

As the tea brews, start preparing your milk. Whole milk foams the best, but any milk will do. Experiment with different types of milk, like coconut or oat milk, for added flavor notes. Heat your milk in a saucepan on low heat, carefully watching to make sure it doesn't simmer, until it's hot to the touch.

Next, froth your milk. The easiest method for foaming milk is with a handheld milk frother, but if you don’t have one, there are still plenty of easy alternatives! If you have a french press, one option is to pour in the hot milk and pump until the milk expands. If you don't have a milk frother or french press, you can quickly whisk the hot milk until it turns fluffy.

After you finish brewing your tea, stir in the honey or sweetener of your choice, adjusting the amount to taste. Pour in your steamed milk and add in a splash of vanilla.

Finally, scoop some foam on top of each cup and enjoy!

Optional: For a dash of color and delight, garnish with a sprinkle of vibrant rose petals!
