Purple Mint Mojito

PURPLE MINT MOJITO

This cocktail takes the classic refreshing mojito ingredients and adds an interesting element by infusing Purple Mint Tea from JusTea! Purple tea is grown in Kenya and comes from a variation of the tea plant that naturally changes to a pink color when you add citrus, so notice the color shift as you mix the ingredients together! PUPRLE MINT MOJITO

Makes 2 glasses // Prep Time: 10 minutes // Active Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 rounded tsp loose leaf Justea Purple Mint
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • The juice of 2 limes
  • 4 oz white rum
  • 6 oz club soda
  • Ice cubes

How to make Purple Mint Tea

Heat water to around 190°F and steep the mint tea for 3 minutes. Strain the mint tea and set aside to cool to room temperature (about 15 minutes), you can also put ice cubes in your tea to help it cool down faster!

Add the mint leaves and sugar to a cocktail shaker and muddle with a muddler or end of a wooden spoon.

Next, add in the lime juice and rum to the cocktail shaker and shake well (for 15-20 seconds). Prepare two cocktail classes with ice cubes and divide the Purple Mint Tea and club soda evenly between the glasses. Pour in the rum mixture from the cocktail shaker evenly, stir gently, and garnish with mint leaves or lime wedges. Enjoy this delightful purple mint tea!
