This refreshing drink can be enjoyed year around but it’s festive colors from the pomegranate pearls and the mint make it a perfect treat for your next holiday get together. A tangy and pungent blend with a subtle hint of green tea, this drink is a decadent delight.

Pomegranate Mint Spiked Tea

Makes 2 glasses // Prep Time: 15 minutes // Active Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 rounded tsp or 1 sachet/bag green tea
  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate juice
  • 4 tbsp (2 oz) simple syrup/honey/agave syrup
  • 4 oz vodka/rum
  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • Ice cubes
  • Mint sprigs and pomegranate pearls for garnish (optional)

Directions

Heat the water to 175°F and steep tea for 2-3 minutes. Remove tea and set aside to let cool to room temperature (about 15 minutes). You can even prepare the green tea and chill it overnight in the refrigerator, or use an unfinished pot of green tea (chilled) for your cocktails!

In a cocktail shaker, combine the tea, pomegranate juice, sweetener, vodka/rum, and a small handful of ice cubes and shake well (about 10 seconds). In each cocktail glass, add the mint leaves to the bottom of the glass and muddle with a wooden spoon or muddler. Add ice cubes to each glass, and pour in the cocktail. Stir to mix in the mint, garnish with mint sprigs and pomegranate pearls, and enjoy!
