Orange Dream Mimosas

This is a creamier, more robust version of the original mimosa. Black tea and heavy whipping cream add depth and decadence to the already delicate morning cocktail. For those of you who like creamier cocktails, whip this one up for your next weekend brunch with friends and revel in the deliciousness.

Orange Dream Mimosas

Makes 4 glasses // Prep Time: 5 minutes // Active Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • 1 rounded tsp loose leaf or 1 sachet/bag black tea
  • 1/4 cup sugar, for rimming the glasses
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 tbsp heavy whipping cream
  • 1 750ml bottle of champagne or Prosecco
  • Orange slices or wheels and whipped cream for garnish

Directions

Heat the water to 212°F and steep black tea for 3-5 minutes. Remove (strain) tea and sweeten to taste with honey, sugar, agave syrup, or maple syrup. Add in a few ice cubes and set aside to cool (about 5 minutes).

Rim glasses with sugar by moistening the rims with orange juice or honey, and dipping the rims into a shallow bowl full of sugar. In a pitcher, combine the black tea, orange juice, and heavy whipping cream and stir until well mixed. Pour mixture into each glass, top with champagne or Prosecco, garnish with an orange wedge and a dollop of whipped cream. Enjoy!

Next, we recommend trying this aromatic Citrus Parsley Cordial, perfect for a weekend brunch!
