This holiday punch seriously packs, well, a punch. A quick glance over the ingredients and you’ll know what we mean. This is a punch spiked with black or oolong tea - usually it would be tea spiked with alcohol, but seeing as there is more alcohol in this punch than tea, we’re going to say that it’s spiked with tea. The ingredient proportions can definitely be tailored to how strong you’d like to make this punch, just play with it until you get a batch that tastes the best to you! Makes 18-20 glasses // Prep Time: 10 minutes // Active Time: 10 minutes
- 1 750 ml bottle dark rum
- 1 750 ml bottle of dry red wine
- 3 cups strongly brewed black or oolong tea (we love it with Harney & Sons Pomegranate Oolong)
- Sweetener of choice (e.g. honey), if you like it 'sweet'
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- Seasonal fruits for garnish (oranges, apples, pomegranate seeds, cranberries, etc)
Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan and heat over medium heat, stirring until all sugar dissolves. Pour the heated punch into a large heat-proof punch bowl. Let cool by adding in ice cubes and/or moving it to the refrigerator until you're ready to serve. Then, add in chopped and prepared seasonal fruits before serving. Serve chilled and garnish with extra orange slices or cranberries, add a rosemary sprig to be extra festive. Enjoy!
