Sarah Scarborough from Nomadic Tea Party combined a tangy red hibiscus simple syrup, made using Firepot Nomadic Teas Hibiscus Elixir, with traditional mimosas and recommends using dried or candied hibiscus roselles as garnishes for this beautiful cocktail.
- 1 tbsp Hibiscus Elixir
- 1 cup boiling water
- Orange juice
Hibiscus Simple Syrup: Steep 1 tablespoon of Hibiscus Elixir in 1 cup of boiling water for 8 minutes. Strain and add 1 cup of sugar. Stir to dissolve the sugar and ensure that the syrup is smooth. Store the syrup in a glass jar for up to a week.
Hibiscus Mimosas: For each glass, pour 2 parts Prosecco, 1 part Orange Juice, and a splash of Hibiscus Simple Syrup. Edit the ratio to your taste and add more syrup for more sweetness or tangy flavor!
