The combination of green or mint tea, cucumber, lemon juice, ginger, and fresh mint is a powerhouse in cleansing your body and, might we mention, is a tasty blend for an iced tea. All the ingredients in this iced tea are experts at aiding your body in detoxification and promoting healthy balance.

To give you a brief idea, green tea helps a whole list of things from weight loss and management to cancer prevention. Cucumbers provide helpful vitamins such as A, B, and C, which help in boosting immunity. They also supply minerals to promote healthy skin such as magnesium, potassium, silicon. Lemons restore the pH balance of your body and act as a powerful as a liver detoxifier. They are also an immunity booster from the presence of high amounts of vitamin C. Ginger is another great detoxifier as it helps control blood sugar and increases your body temperature, which boosts metabolism and promotes weight loss. As we said, this is an extremely effective cleansing iced tea that also tastes great, you’ll want to continue sipping all day!

DEEP DETOX ICED TEA

Makes 3 glasses // Prep Time: 2+ hours // Active Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 cups filtered water
  • 4 rounded tsp loose leaf or 4 sachets/bags herbal mint tea or green tea - we recommend Moroccan Mint Green Tea by Stash Tea!
  • for this recipe!
  • 5-10 slices fresh cucumber
  • 1/2 lemon, sliced thinly into rounds and/or 1-3 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 6 sprigs fresh mint
  • 1 inch piece of ginger root, washed and thinly sliced (optional)

Directions

First cold brew the tea by filling a large sealable container with the water and tea. Let infuse for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator and then taste to see if you'd like to remove the tea or let steep longer for a stronger flavor.

When the tea is steeped to your liking, remove (strain) the tea and then add in the cucumber, lemon rounds and/or lemon juice, mint, and ginger. You can drink the mixture straight away or let it infuse in the refrigerator to let the flavors of the detoxifying add-ins fully come out.

Feel free to add a dash of honey, agave nectar, or maple syrup if you'd like or drink it as is and reap the benefits of this deeply detoxifying drink!
