Serve up this delicious mulled wine at your next festivity this holiday season and watch as your guests keep coming back to refill their glasses! This recipe is great because it yields enough for a party and is low-maintenance as they can serve themselves. Mulled wine traditionally has cinnamon in it, but we thought we’d spice it up even more with some cinnamon tea - you guys know we love our tea.

Cinnamon Mulled Wine

Makes 6-8 glasses // Prep Time: 40 minutes // Active Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 rounded tbsp or 4 sachets/bags herbal or caffeinated cinnamon tea
  • 3 cups filtered water
  • ¼ cup sugar or 2 tbsp honey/maple syrup
  • 1 orange, sliced into rounds
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 8 whole cloves
  • 2 star anise
  • 1 whole nutmeg, finely grated
  • ¼ cup brandy (optional)
  • 1 750ml bottle dry red wine
  • Extra cinnamon sticks or star anise for garnish (optional)

Directions

Heat the water to 212°F and steep tea for 5-10 minutes. Remove tea and transfer to a large pot.

Add in the rest of the ingredients and bring to a simmer over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally. Allow the mixture to simmer for 15 minutes and then remove from heat.

Let infuse for 30 minutes and then reheat for when you're ready to serve your guests! Garnish with extra cinnamon sticks or star anise to be extra festive.

These are the types I cannot find in my local store and I was hoping when I ordered to get exzatice unusual teas.
