Dress up your black tea with the goodness of blueberries for an uplifting iced tea that is sure to pep you up during the hottest months of the year!
Blueberry Lemon Iced Tea
Makes 4 glasses // Prep Time: 1 hour // Active Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 4 cups brewed black tea
- 2 cups water
- 1 pkg (16 oz) blueberries
- 1/2 cup lemon juice or 1/4 cup lime juice
- 1/4 cup honey
- Ice for serving
- Mint sprigs for garnish (optional)
Directions
In a small saucepan combine the water, blueberries, and lemon/lime juice. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then remove from heat and strain into a large pitcher, pressing on the blueberries to extract maximum goodness. You can freeze the blueberry solids in ice trays to use in smoothies!
Add in the brewed black tea to the pitcher, and add some honey to taste. Cover and chill for 1 hour. Then serve over ice and garnish with a mint sprig!
