Black Tea Cutout Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup strongly brewed black tea, cooled
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • colores sugar, sprinkles, or other toppings/decorations

Directions

Cream together the butter and sugar. Loosely mix in the black tea. In a separate bowl, thoroughly mix together the flour and baking powder. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, creating a fairly solid dough. Let the dough chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 375°F. Sprinkle some flour on to a large, flat surface and roll out the dough to a 1/4 inch thickness. Using your desired cookie-cutter, cut out the cookies and lay them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 7-9 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown around the edges.

Once the cookies are done baking, let them cool for at least 10 minutes. Then decorate them however you like, serve, and enjoy!
