Tea Beauty: Green Tea Shampoo

green tea shampoo

Store-bought shampoos are often laden with harsh chemicals that strip hair of its natural moisture and shine. One way to prevent this kind of hair damage is to shampoo your hair less frequently. But, if that's not an attractive solution for you, try this gentler, more nourishing green tea shampoo. It's super moisturizing and will protect your hair from dryness in colder weather!

GREEN TEA SHAMPOO

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 1 cup strongly brewed green tea
  • 1 cup castile soap
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 2-3 drops essential oil

WHAT TO DO

Combine all of the ingredients and mix well, making sure that everything is evenly incorporated. Transfer the mixture into a squeezable or pumpable bottle.

When you're ready to wash your hair, apply the shampoo to your scalp and work it downwards towards the ends of your hair. Use as much shampoo as you need to make the entirety of your head foamy and frothy. Once you have rubbed it into your scalp and through the length of your hair, rinse it out with warm water and follow with your favorite conditioner.

How do you define strongly brewed tea? How much tea and how long?
