Tea Beauty: Chamomile Rosacea Compress

chamomile rosacea compress

Dealing with Rosacea can be incredibly frustrating, and with the sun shining more and more everyday, the likelihood of having a sun-triggered flare up is at an all time high during the summer months. The best way to avoid a flare up is to keep sun exposure to a minimum, but we know that this can be difficult and unrealistic. So, here is a safe, gentle, and natural treatment for Rosacea that won't upset delicate, sun-sensitive skin.

CHAMOMILE ROSACEA COMPRESS

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 3 chamomile tea bags OR 1/2 cup fresh chamomile flowers
  • 1 1/2 cups water

WHAT TO DO

In a small pot, boil the water and add in the tea bags/flowers. Let them steep for 30 minutes, strain if necessary, and then let the tea chill in the refrigerator.

To make a cold compress, dip a clean cotton cloth into the tea and apply it to affected areas of your face. Hold the cloth to your skin until it no longer feels cool. At that point, dip it back into the tea and repeat the process to soothe your skin and ease redness, irritation, and inflammation.
