TEA BEAUTY: BLUEBERRY OATMEAL MASK

Oatmeal is a skincare essential due to its ability to shrink pores and even out the texture of skin. Blueberries are chock-full of vitamins and antioxidants, making them effective at smoothing skin, filling in wrinkles, healing scars, and restoring bounce to skin. When you combine these ingredients with nourishing green tea, the benefits are endless!

BLUEBERRY OATMEAL MASK

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 1 tsp brewed green tea leaves
  • 4 tbsp oatmeal
  • 2 tbsp mashed blueberries
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp honey

WHAT TO DO

Use 1 tsp of green tea leaves to brew a cup of tea. Instead of discarding the leaves, use them to make this mask! In a grinder or food processor, grind the oatmeal down to a fine powder. In a small bowl, combine the powdered oatmeal with the brewed and damp tea leaves. Next, mix in mashed blueberries, egg yolk, and honey. The texture of the mixture should be thick but spreadable.

Wash and dry your face as you normally would. Using your fingers or a clean brush, apply the mask to your face in an even layer. Let it dry (about 15-20 minutes) before rinsing it off. The mask should stiffen and tighten due to the egg yolk. Once the mask has dried, rinse it off with warm water and finish with your favorite moisturizer!
