Any beauty buff knows the importance of primer. Priming your face before you apply makeup minimizes your pores and fills in fine lines, allowing your makeup to go on much smoother and stay looking fresh all day. Primer helps your makeup last longer and withstand sweat, humidity, and bad weather while boosting it's quality and pigment integrity. It even makes makeup appear more natural and less cakey! Now that you know why primer is important, here's how you can use tea to make some of your own! Skip the chemicals and expensive products and make this primer right at home.
BLACK TEA MAKEUP PRIMER
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- 1/4 cup black tea
- 1 tbsp aloe vera gel
- 1 tbsp facial moisturizer
- 1/2 tsp witch hazel
WHAT TO DO
In a small bowl, combine the brewed tea with the aloe vera, your favorite facial moisturizer, and a few drops of witch hazel. Mix well and transfer to an airtight container.
To use this primer, apply a small amount to your face and rub it in to your skin before you apply your makeup. We recommend using black tea because it protects skin from dryness, especially during the wintertime. Tea helps to lock in moisture, allowing skin to withstand cold temperatures, wind, and dry air.
