Who doesn't love wearing shorts and letting your legs breathe on a hot day? We tend to not cover up as much in the summertime, which means our skin is exposed and more vulnerable to itchy, unsightly bug bites. Did you know that you can heal those pesky bites with black tea?
BLACK TEA BUG BITE RELIEF
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Black tea bag, brewed and cooled
WHAT TO DO
While most common insect bites themselves don't pose a threat to your health, the itchiness that results can lead to more complications. When you scratch at a bug bite, you tear your skin, leaving it vulnerable to infection or scarring. To prevent these adverse effects, rub a cool black tea bag over the bite(s). Be sure that the tea bag has been used (brew a cuppa for yourself to drink!) and isn't still new and dry.
This will dramatically reduce the swelling, inflammation, and itching of most insect bites due to the astringency of the tannins in black tea.
