UK-based brand teapigs just added 3 new teas - happy, trim, and calm - to their line of feel-good teas. These blends are designed to not only taste amazing, but also provide unique health benefits that make you feel great, too. They’re now available in the US and we’re excited to share them in your Sips by Boxes this season!

We all need our spirits lifted every once in a while. If you're feeling a little down, then sip on a cup of happy, an uplifting organic blend that includes turmeric, apple and lemon balm.  The active ingredient, lemon balm, is great for lifting your mood and reducing anxiety.

Next in the lineup of new feel-good teas is trim - though there’s no quick fix for weight loss, this blend can help get your metabolism into gear. It’s a punchy blend of peach, rosehip, and hibiscus, with guarana seed as the active ingredient to give you an all-natural energy boost without the need for sugary energy drinks. Guarana comes from the Amazon basin and has high concentrations of caffeine, other stimulants, and antioxidants, making this blend ideal for a mid-afternoon kick or pre-gym energy boost.

Finally we have calm, an ultimate relaxation blend of chamomile, valerian, and lemon balm that is great for reducing stress levels. We love enjoying this blend in the evening while winding down for bedtime.

Nick and Louise started teapigs in the UK in November 2006 with one mission – to get people drinking real tea again. They met while working for a big tea company, where they learned all about tea and drank lots of it. And the more they learned, and the more they drank, the more they came to realize something: that there's a whole world of quality teas out there that simply aren't getting the attention they deserve. And so teapigs was born. Louise has been a professional tea taster for over 15 years, has travelled the world sourcing all sorts of teas, and specially designed this line of feel-good teas to help you feel great, morning, noon and night. Check out this Interview with a Tea Taster to learn from Louise about what it’s like to be a professional tea taster, and about how teapigs was founded!

This delicious blend takes classic jasmine-scented green tea and adds real jasmine flowers and locally-grown chrysanthemum flowers.

Chrysanthemum gets its name from the Greek words for “gold” and “flower” and is known to help with chest pain, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, fever, cold, headaches and swelling. Jasmine is a night-blooming flower commonly paired with green tea - it has benefits for skin, blood circulation, mood, and more.

Based in Asheville, North Carolina, Asheville Tea Company was founded in 2016 by Jessie Dean, featuring craft teas blended with locally-sourced ingredients. After experiencing tea in different parts of the world while traveling with her British-born husband, Jessie wanted to bring "everyday tea culture" to Western North Carolina. Noticing the lack of local tea in a town with a thriving craft beverage and farm-to-table scene, she set out to fill that gap and bring local tea to Asheville, partnering with local farmers to source organic ingredients that she uses in her handcrafted blends. Check out this video to learn more about Asheville Tea Co and see how Jessie blends her teas!

While most tea companies use ingredients from all different parts of the world, Asheville Tea Co is spearheading the farm-to-teacup movement by cultivating partnerships with farmers in their own hometown. This not only benefits the local economy and environment, but also the healthfulness, freshness, and taste of the teas themselves.

Ginger is one of those versatile herbs that we like to consume regularly - whether it’s added to food, juices, or tea! Not only is it super tasty and satisfyingly zesty, it also has a wide range of health benefits: it’s anti-inflammatory, soothing for the stomach, helps prevent infections, improves cognitive function, and more. Especially as the weather cools down and cold/flu season approaches, we recommend adding ginger tea to your routine.

This potent herbal infusion of ginger, green rooibos and peppercorns from DAVIDsTEA is spicy, soothing and comforting - perfect for after a meal to help with digestion, or when you're fighting a cold or sore throat. Peppercorns add more anti-inflammatory and digestive potency, and green rooibos helps fight allergies and provides an abundance of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
