Your order confirmation email states that your Sips by Box can take up to 3 weeks to ship - this is because we take the personalization aspect of our service seriously. You could compare us to a nice restaurant that doesn’t pre-cook food from the menu – it’s made to order, just for you. We can’t ‘pre-pack’ Sips by Boxes because of this – and we don’t fit you into 1 box type or another – we select 4 teas uniquely for you based on your profile quiz, ratings of product you receive, and feedback you give us when you write in. Also with our service, there are additional considerations on top of your preferences, like new tea arrivals that may be a better match for you or existing tea inventory levels at the time. Each time an order is received, it will hit a personalization window within a week and will be packed and shipped within the second week.
Our team is currently packing your selection of teas for the month. Tea magic takes time! Once your box has been carefully packed, you’ll receive an email informing you that your box has shipped, including tracking information.
Shipping volume increases during the holidays, which can sometimes mean packages may take a few extra days to arrive. When your box, ships, we’ll send you an email with tracking information. You can also track your box by logging in and visiting your MYSIPS page.
Even if delivery is delayed, we’ll always make sure you receive your order.
Sips by Boxes typically contain 4 tea placements. The contents of each Sips by Box will vary from month to month showcasing different tea types, brands, and flavors according to your profile, your product reviews, and other feedback you choose to provide to us. We will do our best to match you with teas you'll love - but can't guarantee that you will receive a particular product, brand, or package type (e.g. loose leaf vs tea bag vs tea sachet).
The muslin cloth / drawstring bags are reusable loose leaf tea steeping bags. They're organic and laundry-safe in a lingerie/garment mesh bag. We place disposable tea bags inside of this for you to use with your loose leaf samples.
Some of our tea placements are not loose leaf (they come in tea bags or tea sachets). We attempt to gauge your comfort level with your profile, but can't guarantee that you'll receive all tea bags or tea sachets with your order. Your teas will arrive to you in a variety of the below tea packaging types. We'll provide you with instructions on how to make any tea you receive and provide you with disposable tea bags and/or other tea tools when necessary.
Loose leaf means that the leaves are freely packaged in one container. Whole leaf teas, broken leaf teas, and sometimes tea pieces are packaged as loose leaf. You will need a way to steep the tea. The main rule with steeping loose leaf is to have a filter or bag that allows for full expansion of your leaves!
Pyramid sachets were created to allow a fuller steeping experience, and greater transparency as to "what's in that tea bag!?" There are many nice options coming out on shelves in the US that are in pyramid sachets - and they're great for on-the-go or at-the-office steeping. Generally, full leaf, broken leaf, or leaf pieces are packaged in sachets.
Tea bags are effective, cost-efficient, and easily transported - though they don't allow for full expansion of the leaves in all cases - unless you're working with leaf pieces, fannings, or dust - in which case they work perfectly :)
Once you take the tea profile quiz, we build a tea profile for you. You'll be matched with teas that best align to your preferences, and be able to review the teas you receive on a month-to-month basis, until you decide to skip a month or cancel your subscription. Your reviews will continually improve the accuracy of your tea profile.
Once you subscribe, Sips by will immediately process your first subscription fee. Auto-renewal will take place as follows:
For orders placed after August 10th, 2018: Sips by will continue to automatically process your Subscription fee on the anniversary date of each month after you have received your Full Subscription Term (be that a Month-to-Month, 3-Month, 6-Month, or 12-Month term).
For orders placed on or before August 10th, 2018: Sips by will continue to automatically process your Subscription fee on the 26th of each month after you have received your full Subscription term (be that Month-to-Month, 3-Month, 6-Month, or 12-Month).
Your auto-renewing subscription will be charged at the then-current Monthly Subscription rate, subject to terms of any corporate-approved promotional codes used, without further notice to you or authorization from you, until you cancel your subscription.
By purchasing a Subscription, you agree to an initial and recurring Subscription fee at the then-current Subscription rate subject to the terms of any corporate-approved promotional codes used, and you accept responsibility for all recurring charges prior to cancellation.
You acknowledge that if you use a promotional code, the charges you incur are subject to these Purchase Terms and the terms of any promotional code you use. For example, if you use a promotional code for 10% off your first month, you will be charged at a rate 10% off the then-current rate for your first month, and your subsequent auto-recurring charges will be at the non-discounted then-current rate for any month up until the point you skip or cancel your Subscription.
"Then-current Subscription Rate" is defined as the non-discounted Subscription Rate at the time of purchase.

There are no refunds. You will not be eligible for a refund for Subscription fees paid for any orders that have already transacted, due to the fees and charges we're assessed to accept your order, and the work our team has already begun performing to personalize your monthly selections. Learn more here. Gifts to Sips by act as Gift Cards to apply to new or existing subscriptions. We offer refunds when a Gift Card recipient is not a current subscriber and does not wish to subscribe.

New to Sips by? In order to redeem your gift card, you’ll create a member profile. We need to learn about you so we can personalize your teas to your unique taste. By creating this profile, members agree to our terms and conditions. You will need to provide a credit card when you are setting up your account. Don’t worry -- your gift card will cover your subscription for the amount of months specified by the gifter. Once the amount on your gift card has been exhausted, you will receive an email reminding you that your subscription will continue using the credit card you provided. Not interested in continuing? You can always pause or cancel your subscription once your gift card runs out.
Yes. Log in to your profile. Visit the settings page. Select Redeem Your Gift Card. Find your gift card code in the gift email you received or on the back of your physical gift card. Apply your code and follow the steps to redeem your gift card. If you have difficulty adding your gift card to your account, please reach out to customer support.
Yes. Physical Sips by gift cards are available here. They are 4 inch square tangible gift cards. Please allow up to 10 days for delivery of physical cards. If you’d like to purchase a digital gift card, click here. Digital gift cards are delivered via email within 1 hour and come with a downloadable PDF to print at home and fill in the gift code.
Digital gift cards are delivered to the purchaser via email within 1 hour, as well as on your order confirmation page. These emails include a gift code as well as a downloadable PDF to print and fill in the gift code at home if you’d like. Click the link in the email, download, print, and gift the joy of tea discovery. The printed gift card will be blank. Write the gift code you received in your email in the blank space on the printed card.
This gift card is a one time purchase. The gift recipient will apply this gift card toward a renewing subscription. Recipients redeem their gift cards by becoming Sips by members. In doing so, they agree to our terms and conditions and provide us with a credit card number. This credit card will not be charged. After the recipient’s last order covered by a gift card processes, they will be sent an email reminder giving them a chance to cancel or pause their subscription. If the gift recipient chooses to renew their subscription, it will be paid for with their credit card, not the gift giver’s credit card.
We offer refunds when a gift card recipient is not a current subscriber and does not wish to subscribe. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can assist you with a refund.
Once all of the credit on a gift subscription is exhausted, payment for the monthly subscription will transfer to the credit card of the person who received the gift. After their last gifted order processes, they will be sent an email reminder, giving them a chance to cancel or pause their subscription if they wish. While we would love for them to continue discovering tea with us for years to come, we understand if they’re just joining us for the gift.
