For all the green tea lovers, this flavorful chicken soup is sure to satisfy all of your savory cravings. Aromatic herbs, tender chicken, and a tasty green tea broth take this soup to the next level. Who knew green tea could be so satisfying?
Green Tea Chicken Soup
Makes 2 servings
Ingredients
- 3 green teabags
- 1 quart chicken broth
- 1 chicken thigh, chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 1/2 red onion, chopped
- 1 sprig fresh thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp black pepper
Directions
In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Turn off the heat and add the tea bags. Let the tea steep for 10 minutes and then discard the tea bags.
Place the chicken into the pot and bring it to a boil again. Once it has reached a boil, turn the heat down to medium-low and simmer for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes have passed, add in the coconut oil, minced garlic, carrots, onion, thyme, bay leaf, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Give the mixture a good stir and allow it to keep simmering for another 20 minutes. Serve immediately or store the soup in the refrigerator until you are ready to eat it. Enjoy!
